...Wood has been blessed with the opportunity to make music her passion and her life for the last 25 years....
Juli plays alto, tenor, and baritone saxes, and she loves to sing !She has been lucky enough to play with some great jazz veterans including Melvin Rhyne, Earma Thompson, Jodie Christian, Ira Sullivan,  Barry Harris, and Ted Curson.  She has entertained around the world at jazz festivals and clubs. A few of her favorites were: Skansen Jazz and Blues fest in Stockholm; Pori Jazz in Finland; Bent J's club in Aarhus, Denmark; Elo Jazz and Blues in Oulu, Finland;Arlandia Jazz fest - Aland Islands;Paappa's Music Pub in Tampere and Storyville Jazz Club in Helsinki.   Late night gigs in Fuengirola, Malaga, Grenada,and Barcelona in Spain were a blast ! The gigs in January 2009 on Crete and Bar Guru in Athens were fabulous !
Stateside she has played extensively throughout the midwest. Her home is now in Chicago where she has led her own groups at : Andy's, Green Mill, Room 43, Pete Miller's, and Katerina's. Juli has been featured at the Chicago Jazz Fest in her own quintet with Mel Rhyne; with Jeru, a Gerry Mulligan tribute; and with an all female jazz band, SHE. Juli played the 2010 Chicago Jazz fest with veteran Chicago jazz pianist, Jodie Christian and again in 2012 with Ken Chaney's group in a tribute to Jodie Christian. Juli's trio was featured at the 2012 Hyde Park Jazz Fest playing music from Chicago tenor greats....
